Vista 64 firewire to XP

Has anybody found a way to get vista 64 to recognize a firewire connection? Trying to transfer files from my old XPS to my new rig.

What's the problem? Is the connection just not showing up in Vista?

If you can't get this to work, I would suggest buying a crossover network cable and transferring your files using that. Make sure you get a crossover cable instead of a patch cable (patch cables are used to connect your PC to a router/switch, crossover cables are used for direct connections).
