I will be just mostly downloading, encoding movies, burning, playing games now an then, browsing the web, things around that. this is what I have so far

These are the two mobos that I have picked have picked out. I am not sure which one is better so someone help me out on that please.

Now for the other products,

Also before I get started the computer case I choose has a water cooler in it, I am wondering if I need a better one though? I wouldnt mind buying a real good one even if I wont need it. Let me know

I also want water blocks for the motherboard, processor, and video card. Im not sure what to really get though, so if someone could help me out with the water cooling system that would be great also

Well, processor, ram, mobo, etc. will work together. BluRay burner is a nice touch. Seems like a little more oomph than you need if your only a casual gamer and some video encoding, but I'm all for going a little crazy. :p

Water cooling seems like overkill, though I'll admit I'm not a user. I can't imagine why you would need that much cooling with only 1 graphics card, but maybe other folks here have a different POV. Minimally, it's adding a whole extra layer of complexity to the build.

well I hear the processor gets hot when you overclock it so I was mostly doing it for that. I dont want it to burn out or something.

Most of us here will advise against overclocking right off the bat, especially if your experience level is low. Keep in mind that you could have liquid nitrogen (used for embelishment purposes... please don't try at home... :D) on it, and OC'g too much would still fry it. Also keep in mind that you will already have the Ferarri, so no reason to tie a jet pack to it.

Now that I have done the obligatory warnings, I overclock mine on occasion for video work, and this puppy does just fine.

If you decide to stear clear of liquid cooling, here are two options:

Couldn't have put it better myself. :D

i think the whole thing is overkill but then again i dont have that much money if i did i would say f@@@ it get the best on the market. but it is a good price for the hard drive though.

I'm not sure if anyone recommended maybe just an after market Heat sink for the cpu if you wanna overclock it. I will be running the i7 920 shortly and will get a heatsink just to help keep it really cool but will not overclock it. However why overclock it? Your system will be more than fast enough to run anything you need it to run without a glitch. After market Heat sinks are only around $30 dollars and do an awesome job. It would save you a ton of cash and probably be pretty close to just as effective asuming your not overclocking by a ton or you choose not too at all which is what I recommend. These guys made great points, really there isnt a need to overclock this beast. Nothing you throw at it will slow it down.

Good Luck!!
