hello out there
and wisemonkey..!!
just wanted to ask if i can use any brand sata pci card for my ecs p4vmm2
i really wanna use satas.. can i boot from the pci card?
i was planning on .
intalling the controller drivers to my existing ide drives then...
ghosting my ide drives to the sata drive...
should i have problems?
can my p4vmm2 boot from the pci?

If you are using Norton Ghost, then it will probably ask for the drivers anyway, so you shouldn't install them on your IDE drives. You may have issues with this - I would recommend installing a fresh copy of XP onto the SATA drives, then copying whatever you need from the IDE drives.
This Promise SATA card, while relatively expensive, does include a boot ROM, and has good reviews on newegg:

been running around the net for the answer...
i dont wanna waste time on tryin to boot sata the ghost way ahihi
i dont know if there are any other pci sata brand here in the philippines.
all i can see is the via card.. and they are out of stock waa...
looks like if ever i add sata drives its only gonna be a slave drive..
if i cant find the promise card...
i hate re installing .... maybe ill wait for my rig to kick the bucket then ill buy a new rig haha...
