First Build need help

Hi, first build. My components used are:
AMD 4600 64x2 Windsor 2.4 ghz processor
KN9 SLI Platinum motherboard
Maxtor SATA / 300 500 Gig HD
GeFORCE 8600 GT video card
Sony DRU 8300 A DVD Drive
Antec Sonata II case
All went together well no problems. But on booting getting I keep getting error: PXE_E61: Media test failure Check cable? Checked all cables and removed all components and started over and still get error? Not sure which direction to go? :confused: Thanks

You get that error because your PC is trying to PXE (Preboot Execution Environment iirc) boot over a network before looking for the hard drive, and it cannot find a LAN cable attached. PXE booting is used to install an Operating System across a network.

To stop this, look in the BIOS for the boot order and move the hard drive to the top of the list. There might also be an option to disable PXE booting altogether

I tried moving the hard drive to the top of the boot list no help. Where would i find option to disable PXE booting altogether?

It will be in the BIOS somewhere, and it will probably mention PXE or network boot, something like that. As for where, it depends on the BIOS. :)
