Hi so you can get a
22" 1680x1050 OR a
22"1920x1080
Correct?

Now I have a few questions.

Question 1: Would it be better to get a 1680x1050 or a 1920x1080 22" monitor. 85% of the games I will play will be PC games rest ps3 games. The 1920x1080 would be better for the ps3 as the games would run in 1080p Full HD, but then playing PC games (85% of the time) would I run into trouble? If games do not support 1920x1080 it would mean that it would then have to downscale my native resolution to 1680x1050. Do any PC games at all support 1920x1080 resolution?
And if they dont I read that you can just force the game to run your native resolution by changing some commands, could this be done for all games?

Question 1: (summary)Would I really would like to know is if I should go with a 1680x1050 or a 1920x1080 resolution 22" computer monitor. Keeping in mind around 85% or even more will be used for PC then for ps3 games.

Question 2: Also I thought to go from 1680x1050 to 1920x1080 resolution would you need more then a ATI 4850 512mb graphics card? Are FPS effected by the first numbers such as 1920 and 1680 or ONLY by the last such as 1200, 1080 and 1050?

Question 3: I read "Games that do not support 1920 x 1080 will probably look distorted or maybe the top/bottom parts may not be displayed." Does that effect games that you force to be 1920x1080 be changing a command?

Question 4: Sorry for all these questions, but I dont wont to buy the wrong monitor, but one other is it true that running 1920x1080 on a 22" monitor is going to make text and icons (while just on the computer, not gaming) really small compared to the majority of 22" at 1680x1050

Thanks

I use my Samsung 22" 1680x1050 for my PS3 and PC, the same as you, and at that size monitor there isn't really any difference between 720p and 1080p - you can only really notice it on very large screens.

I would recommend going for the 1680x1050 version because you will get better performance in games for the PC (my 4850 works very well) and you can run the PS3 at 720p. You can get HDMI to DVI connectors if your monitor doesn't have an HDMI input.

I also run a 22 inch Samsung at 1680x1050 and it looks great. Sorry but I don't have a ps3 or anything else. I did play Call of Duty UO on it at 800x600 and it looked fine. I'm not much help, sorry.
