I have recently built with an MSI K8 Neo 4-F. I may be having a conflict with the onboard audio drivers and the drivers for my Audigy 2 value card. I have turned off the audio in the BIOS, but I am trying to rule out conflicts that might be created if both sets of drivers are on my boot drive. When I start the install of the latest chipset drivers from MSI, there is a list of choices to eliminate on the install, but none of them relate to audio. Hmmm!

If you had no device conflicts before installing the sound card then I think you should be able to get the sound card installed and switch over to using it without resulting in any device conflicts. When I installed my Audigy 2 ZS sound card, I had been using the built-in sound of the EPoX 8RDA+. I had to disable the built-in sound in the BIOS, and disable the drivers for the build-in sound. The steps I took are on this page. Maybe they will help.

Thank you, Rob. I especially appreciated your caution that the downloads on the Creative web site were far smaller than they should be to have the entire driver package. I probed a little further in the Creative web site and found the following link, http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&message.id=25677. This link will direct one to the Bad Boys forum where there are ISO images for the complete driver sets. I created a CD for my card since my OEM version did not ship with one, and things are now working well, and are updatable by the stuff on the Creative web site. If one does not have the full driver install, the files from the Creative web site will give an error message informing that it could not find a full complement of the drivers to update.
