Intel is changing computer industry again. Save your pennies before upgrading until that junk comes out. Really amazing stuff.

Things to note:
overclocking protection besides on Extreme unlocked
Quad cores all of them
All cores have hyperthreading
Cores are smart and will underclock, or return to normal if one core is being utilized only.
Integrated memory controller on the die of the CPU.
New chipset, means chips, and boards will not work with this CPU.
The northbridge is now non existant.
CPU can talk CPU to CPU directly, no converter.
L1 cache 64+64kb
L2 256kb
L3 8mb

The cores can utilize their own L2 and each can use the full 8mb cache when needed, no sharing 4mb and 4mb like duals and old quads.

Hyperthreading actually works.
The front side bus got replaced, and the new transport does circles around even AMDs hypertransport. Called QPI
25% performance increase over same clocked and speced current chips.
45nm proccess
Each chip in line has a fsb wall early on, and overclock protection meaing if your wattage gets higher then spec by a bit, the cpu will underclock back to normal. sucks for us overclockers budget ones at least.

Extreme sample went from 3.2ghz to 6.2ghz on air with 1.5v, and so much fsb. you can adjust multiplier from 24 to 1, and fsb.

CPU will adjust multiplier on the fly when not being fully utilized same when gaming, or overclocking saves power.

I am not a fanboy, nor a hater, or promoter, just showing you what I found.
