So after searching for hard drives I found this one, was like okay good price nice size, lets buy it. In pricing comparisons I found an article about the seek times on this drive.
Apparently the seek time for this drive is slower then supposed to be by alot. The link posted below has the full scoop, basically guy called WD tech support they told him its normal, or buy a velociraptor.
The guy finds out how to fix the seek time using HDTune 2.55, and HD Tach 3.0.4.0 for diagnosing, and testing the speeds of the drive and parameters, so benchmarking.
"He used http:www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.html burned the .iso, booted it and changed the AAM to the highest numerical setting and bam!"
He is the complete article link: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=565932
Hope that this helps you.
Idk if sticky worthy, because external guide, but none the less don't let this collect dust it is useful.
