i have an issue connecting the USB 2.0 connectors to my motherboard. On the USB 2.0 connectors for my case i have (2)seperate 5 FEMALE/ or "pin-in" labled :

VCC 1
DATA -1
DATA +1
GRND 1
SHIELD 1

VCC 2
DATA -2
DATA +2
GRND 2
SHIELD 2

Now, the motherboard has USB56 (9)pin out and USB78 (9)pin out, which if understand correctly is if i have ports 1,2,3,4 onboard, these are connections for ports 5,6,7,8. but the motherboard company is calling the 9th PIN a "no connect" it was just put there to prevent putting it in backwards.
So now my question is: can i just put (1) on the lower 5 PIN of USB56 and (1) on the lower 5 PIN of USB78, will that 5th pin act as my SHIELD connections? also ive heard of problems and some horrible stories with electrostatic and not shielding these. the two ports are on the same plate of metal is that why they are only 9 pin on the board also because you can shield both on one pin? would i then just put them both on USB56 ?
If you have a similar issue or a solution please let me know.
