No Screen on Boot

2 gbs of ddr memory (its compatible i checked.)
GFX: nvidia 6600

I am having no visual as well but I have everything plugged in and I double checked this. Only thing I can see is a broken part, or hardware incompatiable.
Computer turns on and mobo lights on, but screen is blank.

I think 1 thing required for the mobo was not with the case plugs a small 12v1 something, but I ignored it.

I did not have the 8 pin cpu power connector. So what can i do about that? can i buy it or do i not need it (Because computer turned on) or must i get a new case, or is it something else.

this is the only thing i can think i dont have, but not sure why the case does not have it.

Ok I fixed it, it was a memory problem, I needed the correct one.

New problem is my computer is making a rining noise like i am about to be hit with a torpedo in a submarine.

what are the ring noises that come from a mobo and how do i fix this?

possibly it could be your motherboard's sound saying that something is wrong.

Ok so I just restarted the system and installed XP, but when it finishes formatting and adding files to the HDD it resets and comes to a black screen, not the welcome XP screen.

And i can still here the beep from the mobo every other boot.

I checked bios and temperature is ok and all the drives are recongized. I have my main HDD on a sata cable then a second HDD on a regular cable to the IDE.

But still nothing.

Error msg on black screen is:

Windows could not star because of a computer disk hardware config problem
could not read from the boot disk, check boot path and disk hardware.

please check windows docu about hardware config.

I dont see why I cant just install my OP through my main HDD on Sata and then continue to XP. Do i need to use an IDE HDD or do I need to arrange the master slave configs.

I am a little lost here, thought it would be simple.
