Hi Guys, it's been awhile, my computer is running great...thanks to all of you!
I have a question about my son's dell. He wants to upgrade the RAM to 2 gigs. The computer is a Dimension 4600 series, Intel Pentium 4 at 2.8 GHz. He upgraded the video card to EVGA e-GeForce 7600 GS already.
He also changed out the power supply to 400 watts when he changed out the video card. What would you suggest for RAM. He does not do alot of gaming but does play one of those shooting games online.

Thanks as always! Min. :)

Hey Min,

It sort of depends on whats in there now. On the 4600, the ram has to be installed in matching pairs. Here's some info that will help.

What I would suggest is going to crucial.com and use the ram configurator to analyze the pc and make the appropriate recommendation. They guarantee their ram to work.

Thanks RickyTick, I know about having to use equal amounts in each bay, although when I called Dell about my cousins upgrade they said we could use one, 1gig stick. But that was a newer computer. My Son's computer is older so I will do as you suggest and pop over to crucial.com. Thanks.
