Hey, i'm moving into a house with some mates for the second year at uni and we need to sort out internet connection. We were considering powerline. I was just wondering whether the different companies adapters were compatible?

For example if you look at dabs: http://www.dabs.com/ProductList.aspx?SearchTerms=powerline&SearchMode=All&SearchKey=All&PageMode=3&NavigationKey=0&SearchType=1

would a devolo adapter on the socket connected to the router work with a netgear adapter for a pc upstairs?

Help would be much appreciated!

It is not recommended, as they are likely to transmit on similar frequencies and therefore interfere with each other.

By the way, if you are shopping in the UK, I would recommend www.ebuyer.com as they are usually a bit cheaper, and offer free shipping. :)
