View Full Version : computer blew my mic and speakers out.

Anyone have a clue why my computer might have blown my speakers and mic out? Did I hook something up incorrectly?

here is what i am using....

they not working anymore .... lol thats what i mean by blew them out... the mic works i a scream as loud asi can ... and it still sounds like im 4 houses away talkin into the mic ... my speakers are blown power will not turn back on for them...

Hmm, microphone might just be configured incorrectly - have you tried turning up the volume on it? It also might be an idea to enable the +20db boost in the options and see if it makes a difference.

As for the speakers, have you tried them in a different power socket?

yea it has nothing to do with the socket, i believe. It has power to the ac adapter but it could be that my speakers have just had enough. They are about 12 years old but bad ass speakers. Combridge speakers, very load with good sound. I have givin up on them so I just use a headset with mic combo through usb port and they have been workin great. Im kind of scared to plug a new set of speakers in the back and have them malfunction like the old ones. I just didnt know if it could be a problem with the board or something.
