Upgrade Dell

I just had a quick question. My friend has a dell dimension with no graphics card and he wants to get a HDTV to serve as a monitor. He was able to get a 8500gt. Would his dell with a lousy PSU of only 300W be able to supply power to a 8500gt card.

Dell psu's are usually underrated, so it shouldn't have a problem with the 8500GT, unless it has multiple hard drives and floppy drives. already draining it.

Thank you for the quick reply Ricky. That is what I thought but he was extremely worried about the PSU not being big enough.

You won't damage your PC by having not enough power, it just won't work properly. :)
