I have posted updated build instructions at this link: Updated build computer steps (http://www.mysuperpc.com/build_your_own_computer/pc_parts_list.shtml).

The components for the computer are very recent and, in fact, the same as those in My Super PC today, namely the ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ AM2 processor, Zalman CNPS9500 AM2 CPU cooler, and so on. I've completed the web pages that cover the parts list through Windows install (both Windows XP and Windows Vista), a total of 33 web pages.

These updated build computer steps are available in a full-color, 139 page book with over 250 images at this link: My Super PC full-color computer build steps (http://www.lulu.com/content/694059)

I'll continue adding web pages, such as including steps for installing drivers, but the book will remain the same to keep the cost down. Even so, it's $59.95 - which is as low as I can price it (the publisher, Lulu, has price requirements) - keeping it less than most computer components.

These updated steps (to which I'll continue adding) and the corresponding book are not to be confused with my current, completed assembly steps showing how to build your own PC. Although the components are not as recent, the steps are far more comprehensive, including examples of installing commonly used add-on cards (modem and sound card), setting up RAID, installing drivers, running diagnostics, running benchmarks and more. These steps are 64 web-pages and begin at this link - My Super PC very comprehensive computer build steps (http://www.mysuperpc.com/build/pc_parts_list.shtml)

The current, complete steps are also available in a book. This book is 373 pages and has nearly 700 images. Since it is so vast, it is in black-and-white to keep the cost to a low $19.95. Again, I've purposely priced it as low as possible so it's an easy buy for everyone. The cost is lower than really any computer component and nothing I've seen is so detailed and comprehensive. As always, the web-pages are free!
