i wanted to mention here that if you order memory from crucial the shipping, while free, is very slow. i ordered all components on the same day from newegg, amazon, and crucial. its been 10 days since i received all the components except the memory i ended up buying a stick of kingston from walmart just so i could put the system together and boot up. hope the crucial memory gets here this week.

That's surprising. I've always received my RAM within 2 business days with the free shipping, and I've purchased lots of RAM.

I've only bought from Crucial once, and it arrived in 2 days. Sorry you had problems. I don't think that's the norm.

got my ram today. took 2 weeks. lady at crucial told me that was normal. they ship with ups mail innovations. ups picks up the package, takes it to one of their centers, transfers it to one of the post office centers and then the us mail delivers it

Well that stinks. I guess if we want Crucial ram the best place might be newegg or zipzoomfly.

Yes, I totally agree. I think in cutting cost they have sadly gone another route. I ordered all of my parts on the same day and I'm still waiting for my memory. If you can get your memory at egg, do it. I ordered from crucial in the past and it arrived quickly.

i ordered 4 sticks of pc2-8500 and installed it when it finally arrived but according to their online scanner, i actually have 4 sticks of pc2-6400.
if i'm not mistaken, this is only 400mhz memory instead of the 1066 i ordered.

It is probably because your motherboard only supports up to 6400 speeds. :)

mobo is the asusM2N32-SLI deluxe wireless which can support 800mhz
memory. i think the crucial 6400 is only 400 mhz

PC6400 is 800Mhz memory not 400.

DDR = Double Data Rate, so you multiply the speed by 2. :)
