Problems installing a Zalman CNPS9700 NT CPU cooler on motherboard

I am trying to install the above cooler over an Intel Quad Core desktop CPU (Quad 6600LGA775. The motherboard is an Asus P5K Deluxe wifi. I notice that a line of transistors on the motherboard prevent my being able to align the clip support and the backplate for socket 775,over the 4 screw holes on the motherboard.

I would appreciate some suggestions. I am thinking about just installing the stock cooler that came with the cpu.
