Hello, I'm quite new here. I used the My Super PC site(REALLY GOOD WEBSITE! thanks) to install a few hardware components in my case. This is my first build from scratch. I warn you, I'm a n00b.

Problem: No display at boot up. No beeps coming from the mobo speaker.

Specs:
Intel E8400 Wolfdale 3.0Ghz 6mb cache
ASUS P5N-D n750i
Western Digital 500 sata-300 HDD
ocz SLI READY 4gb 800mhz RAM
sparkle 8600 GT gddr2 512mb
APEVIA X-Plorer case
powerup! 800w psu
Windows XP disc ready to install

Attempts:
1. I Switched Monitors
2. I Switched my video card between the two PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots
3. I Took on ram stick out and switched them around
4. I Reset the CMOS (took the battery out of the mobo and put it back)
5. Reset computer during bootup

Really hope I can get this problem solved ><

Thanks in advance!~

[don't mean to abuse forums since this is my first post.]

I realized I didn't really reset the CMOS.

And now it works.. e_e;

Ill use this topic If I encounter any more problems though!

:]

Ok, A new problem ._.

So I was going to install Windows XP on my new SATA drive. Then BOOM. Computer shuts down. I boot up again and now after it ask my mobo to setup press DEL and to view POST press tab. So I press DEL and it looks like my SATA 500GB HDD is still there recognized. Then I save and exit then It takes me to this blank black screen with the undersquare key " _ " blinking non stop. And it does nothing from there.

I tryed reseting the Cmos and a bunch of silly stuff. Like disconnecting cables and taking out every peripheral and plugging my SATA HDD to sata 1-4. No result! ):

If you think you can help me please respond! Thanks in advance.

Problem solved.

I booted it up without the power connector to my SATA HDD. Then the blinking underdash told me about a BOOT FAILURE. So I was like hahahahah, fool. I plug back in the power cable then put the XP disc and i find myself in TEXT based XP installation.

This topic should help alot of people D:!

This is what we like to see here - people trying new things to solve their own problems. That's half of what building a PC is all about. :D

Ehehe -_o. Hello thar Wise Monkay :D

New problem

Hopefully I can fix this before someone replies. I'm getting the "Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem".

Ive reformatting and fiddled with hardware. Still get the message.

This ones quite stubborn. It'll take me a while to figure this out. But if you know and would be so kind to save me some time with the help of your l33t knowledge, please do so! Id appreciate it!
