Good morning everyone! I'm so happy to see these forums going well, I absolutely love this site; I have the book too! Anyway, this is my third computer I've put together, and it's a case mod! It looks great, and I'm going to post my pictures and worklog as soon as I can get this to POST <_<

Here are my specs:

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136044&Tpk=lanparty%2bam2
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 64 4200+ 2.2GHz
RAM: 4GB 800 MHz (4x1GB)
Hard Drive: 320GB SATA
CD/DVD: SATA
Video Card: GeForce 8600 GT
Sound Card: SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
PSU: Modular with 650 Watts
And some lights and fans and that fun stuff.

Now this case is like a child to me, I can't even begin to describe it, the pictures will do as soon as I get this to POST.

It just won't POST. At first, reading the first boot problems of the book, I thought it was that I grounded the board to the case by putting those circular washer-insulator things between the case and the pegs, so I removed my motherboard this morning and put those things between the motherboard and the screws. Nothing.

I've tried every combination of "1 stick of RAM, no hard drive...now 2 sticks..." that there is. Let me also say that the processor, video card, sound card, and hard drive I just pulled from my old machine, so technically there is still data on the hard drive. I would think that the parts would all work, but then again it's a computer :P Also, I hate case wires. I never seem to get them right. My motherboard has no Power SW slot, so I put the Power SW wire into the ATX SW slot and I can turn it on from the button on the front of the case. All the fans spin and lights go on, etc. I have a speaker (speaker on the end of a wire that came with the base case) plugged into the speaker slot. The rest of the wires have all been in at various points and removed for other tests, then put back in, etc. Also, I have the 24-pin power adapter plugged in, but in the bottom left of this picture: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?CurImage=13-136-044-05.jpg&Image=13-136-044-03.jpg%2c13-136-044-04.jpg%2c13-136-044-05.jpg%2c13-136-044-06.jpg%2c13-136-044-08.jpg%2c13-136-044-09.jpg%2c13-136-044-02.jpg&S7ImageFlag=0&WaterMark=1&Item=N82E16813136044&Depa=0&Description=DFI+LANPARTY+DK+790FX-M2RS+ATX+AMD+Motherboard there is an 8-pin adapter as well. I don't know if that's relevant or not, but I let it be.

PLEASE HELP! It is so much appreciated! Have a great day everyone!

You should plug in the 8-pin adapter as well - that powers the CPU. :)

Hahaha, I beat you to it by about 8 seconds :D I just got it powered up. I had tried that adapter in the past, but it hadn't worked, as I now know, because I had a faulty stick of RAM. So it was double the issue! Much thanks to you kind sir ;) I look forward to posting my case soon!

Glad you got it sorted.
