How to build really small PC

I'm interested in building my own really small (12" or so )PC. I've seen one and would to build one on my own.

Any special place for me to look for parts for such a 'mini' PC??

You'd be looking at a microATX form factor motherboard, as well as a very smalle case. Bear in mind that you will have to sacrifice PCI expansion slots and IO ports in order to go with the smaller size motherboard.
