I posted earlier about a AMD build but have recently researched benchmarks and such and think i should switch to an Intel instead. The link here is to my list on newegg. I already have a dvd/cd combo drive and monitor.

You need to make the list public viewable. Either that, or type out your components. :)

That's a very nice build. You didn't list a budget.
You should consider a larger hard drive. The 500 gb is not much more, and the 640gb just a little more than that.
You didn't list an Operating System, keyboard, or mouse. Not a big deal.

Budget of around 1000 is all im looking at right now. I have a keyboard and mouse that are standard but they suit me just fine. i can still compete online with no difficulty since i dont use it for MMORPGs or anything, mainly FPS games.
I considered a 500GB HDD but i have a 150GB right now and i dont even use all of it so i dont need to go that high.
Any other suggestions? Could I get a list of reputable brand names for all the components? Especially motherboard since its my base of operations here.

Asus is a top name in motherboards. I would have gone with a P35. The X38 is a little pricey. Other big names are Gigabyte and Abit. All excellent choices.
