Want to setup a Forum.

Yep, i want to setup a Football forum (soccer for you Americans :p )

I want it to be on a grand scale, because most of the ones i visit nowdays are complete crap.

I was thinking of using vbulletin to host, price seems reasonable, anyone know how customizeable they are in regards to colour, banners etc?

vBulletin does seem to be the best available.

If you check out the vBulletin fetures section:

it says that it supports:

Styling & Templates

* Templated system
* Conditionals supported in the templates
* Ability to create multiple styles which can be applied to different forums and users
* Ability to upload / download styles and languages

This sounds to me like you can change the colour/themes.

Why would you want to set up a Forum for soccer?

There's nothing to talk about. Here we have reserved soccer for kids since it doesn't require any skill; like Baseball, (American) Football, or Basketball. :p
