First build little help ?

hey all iv been thinking about building my own pc for a while now and my friedns have told me to it too.

a friend of mine as showed me sum stuff i was wondering weather it would be okay ? im open to sudgestions i was given a ICE cd rom but was told elsewhere that a SATA would be better so if any one has any links please post

Hello Alp welcome to the site. I am probably not the best one to answer this, but maybe I can ask a couple of questions that will make it easier for the experts to help you the best. First of all what will the computer be used for, gaming or surfing or video stuff.


I do believe that the consensus of most of the people here will say go with Intel instead of AMD. AT this point in time, Intel seems to be leaps and bounds ahead of AMD in both price and performance. Maybe times, just a few bucks more spent will get you some longevity and future upgradability. Also you could save a few bucks and do away with the sound board. Most motherboards have onboard sound and really aren't too bad.

The memory you have chosen, is for the price, very hard too beat.

As long as you are not planning on doing any heavy gaming, the video board is pretty good. Although my friend Rickytick usually recommends Something from EVGA.

Can't say too much about the hard drive or the case, but Rickytick is up on the hard drive so he can be of service there.

You're still missing a few items like; Optical Drive, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, and Operating System.

Cheerz rickky for your recopmendations i have taken them into account and they look good to me :)

i wil be using my monitor and keyboard , mouse that i already have as they are pretty gud

would there be any thing else that i would need ?

You'll still need an Optical Drive, and an Operating System.

I would suggest a Samsung SH-S203B DVD R/W (or something similar)
I'm sold on Windows Vista Home Premium as an Operating System.

What do you think?
