First the components I use:

MSI K9N Motherboard
1950X pro video card
AMD 4200 Processor
Antec Sonata II case
2 X 1GB Ballistix 240-Pin DIMM DDR2 PC2-8000 Memory

The fans are working, its just that the screen won't show anything. Also, its not the screens fault, tried it on another computer and it works.

And you've tried the suggestions I have on my first boot common problems page, right? Well these are classic symptons, but I'm sorry to say I don't have any other ideas. I'm very curious to know what the problem is, though, so I hope you'll keep us posted.

Turns out I forgot to connect the extra 4-pin connector to the motherboard =.=

Matt,

I'm building my first system which is almost identical to your system, same memory, MB, and case. I had the same problem you had, until I found your post.

I looked closer at the wiring and found that 4 pin connector. Makes a big difference when it's plugged in and the CPU has power!

I've just completed the first boot, and all is well. The Sonata case is sure quiet even with the side panel off.

Thanks again for helping me get back on track.

Ted
