Wireless Security

I have a Dell Inspirion 6000 laptop and I have reviewed many sites for step by step instructions on securing my wireless connection but I am still quite perplexed as to how to complete this task. I am not a a novice but I I can not seem to decipher the info given on the other sites. Can someone please help????

You have to go into the routers Admin tool and set up the security.

What kind of router is it?
