What would you guys suggest using SCSI or SATA harddrives? and why? i've read conflicting things about both, just hoping to get a clearer outlook on the two. thanks a lot:)

I would suggest SATA because they are cheaper than SCSI and the only reason to get SCSI is if you want an extremely fast hard drive. Plus Sata hard drives can be fast too yet have a much larger amount of GB storage.

I don't know much about SCSI. I'd say the factors to consider are cost, performance, noise, heat and vibration. You might also throw in reliability, compatibility and resale value. You won't go wrong with SATA. But that doesn't mean SCSI would be a bad decision.

I need to know is there really a difference between a 3.0Gb/s Hdd and a 1.5 Gb/s Hdd ? If I were to connect a 3.0Gb/s Hdd to a motherboard that had 1.5Gb/s SATA ports would it work or would I have to find a different MB ? Any help to be had would be grateful

In terms of performance, no, there will be no noticable difference at the application level.

There is a difference between SATA-300 (3Gb/s) and SATA-150 (1.5Gb/s), but not enough so that you'd notice on a day-to-day basis.

Also, any SATA drive that is said to be SATA-300 will support SATA-150 as well.
