The case I ordered has a place for two 80mm exhaust fans and one 120mm intake fan. Can I use a 120mm fan as an exhaust fan by just reversing how it is installed?

What problems might this cause?

Why you ask? 120mm fan will be quieter right? and I only need one instead of two.

Yeah you could, but you'll need to switch the two 80 mm ones around as well, otherwise your case would get no air in. :)

To be honest, you're better off keeping the fans the way they are.

My suggestion would be to remove the front intake fan (if you can do so without impacting aesthetics, otherwise you might try disconnecting it) and see how that affects temperatures. Probably it will have neglible impact, meaning about 1 degree. From my experience, an intake fan provides little to no cool fan. But it provides more noise since it's on the front of the computer case, and probably not far from your ears.
