Much like BobaFettK, I feel like it might be a jinx, but I'll call it done.
case: Antec 900
motherboard: Asus P5KC
processor: Intel E8400
PSU fan: stock
memory: Corsair 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
HD: Western Digital Caviar 320 GB SATA 7200rpm
optical: Lite-On DVD+/-R w/lightscribe
PSU: Corsair HX520w
cooling: Arctic Silver 5
Reusing:
HP vs17x monitor
GPU: evga 7900GS KO 256 MB
Additional 2GB RAM
keyboard/mouse: Logitech 710 laser
Second Mobo worked fine (thanks, Newegg). Have not tested DVD reading or writing, but CD burning and labeling worked fine. City of Heroes plays at the highest levels without the slightest problem.
Only problems seems to be nTune crashing the computer, but I think that might be due to the dual core. Not sure, and I really don't care. I have no reason to overclock now and when I do, I'll get a new video card and driver.
Putting the computer together was a lot of fun and good experience. More importantly; it allowed me to give my old computer to my girlfriend to replace her relatively worthless seven-year-old $3,000 desktop.
Thanks, everyone, for all your help.
