I just used Rivatuner to OC my evga 8800GT for the first time. I OC'd to 650 mhz core clock setting, 1500 shader clock, and 950 memory clock. I got a 3DMark 6 score of 11892. Does that seem like a good score for those clock speeds? Oh, I'm running Windows XP with an e8400 Wolfdale and 2 GB Corsair RAM.

Also, what is a good high-speed/low-risk overclock setting for my video card?

Thanks!

Just in case it matters, this is my score on stock settings: 11507.

Doesn't seem like much of a jump to me, but I'm new to overclocking.

it's better than what i can do and i have the 8800gts ssc 640mb, e8400 wolfdale, 4gb of ram, and running windows vista 64. at stock i get about 10,400. i had to change some things in bios and run rivatuner and oc to 610/1429/1000. any higher and i get artifacts in call of duty 4. overclocking with 3dmark gives me about 11750. i should have went gt. or maybe the windows vista slows me down a bit.

i got 8800gts 512 g92, e8400, 2gb corsair, vista. all stock my 3dmark is 12280. i overclocked my cpu from 3.0 to 3.6 and got a score of 12900. i dont really know what a good score is i just used it to have a starting point for when i oc'd. only overclock if u need to though. at stock i can play any game just fine and crysis on all high. so if u have no problems nor running apps and using ur comp.... why oc?? and to bobba i think that jump is just fine for ocing i was reading a book on it and just ocing the cpu only raised score by a few hundred.

OCing doesn't add a huge amount of performance to your computer full stop, so its not suprising that you don't get that much of a jump.
