So to clarify you are just at the first boot stage right now?

I do not know if this is the answer for sure, but if you have an old ps/2 keyboard lying around try connecting that to the computer. It seems some motherboards have that set as default for keyboard detection. Some of them also seem to have it where you need to set the motherboard to a usb keyboard which is usually set to off intially.

If you are willing to wait you can get a crappy one for 0.99 cents. Go to:

http://www.fatwallet.com/t/18/810279

Then just click on the link and there you have it crappy 99 ps/2 keyboard.

Or failing that just try asking to borrow one of your neighbors keyboards for a few minutes.
