Which monitor to get?

really hard to choose. they both have the same amount of reviews and have the same rating. samsung has a $40 mail-in rebate so it would be the same price as the asus. some people have trouble with the mail-in rebate though. which one wins??

I have the Samsung 226BW and love it. That's a great price too. I've never had any issues with rebates from newegg either.

the base of the monitor isn't bad? does it do well when playing games?

...these guys all say that ALL 22-inch monitors are inferior to 19-inch because they actually only display colors in the thousands instead of in the millions. What are your thoughts on their claims?

i havent seen a samsung in person but i have seen a dell and an hp side by side. in my opinion the hp blow it away. i have an hp and it is amazing!!!!:eek: :eek: flawless picture and the screen looks better when it is turned off. very glossy and sharp. i also went with a 19" as not to have to put to much on the graphics card. the bigger the monitor the more the gpu will have to work and 19 incher is pretty big.

I've argued with those guys, but they just hate the 22 inch monitors. I don't have any kind of engineering degree or any kind of Computer/IT degree, so they just bombard me with technobabble about how inferior the 22 inch is, and all I can say is mine is a beautiful monitor and gaming on it is spectacular. I saw a Dell 2407wfp at the Dell Kiosk at the mall, and yeah it was really nice, but its twice the price of my 226BW.

Also, if you read the specs on the 226BW it says it has colors in the millions. Are they lying? I doubt it.

I'm not telling you about a monitor that I heard was really nice. I'm telling you about a monitor that I'm looking at right now, that I've been using for the past 5 months, and in my Unprofessional opinion, is terrific!! :D

In that thread, Tigerwolf is the main one that hates 22. The others are just echoing what he stated. Tigerwolf has over 10,000 post on the Dell Community Forums and I always listen to what he has to say. Its just that this particular time, I disagree with him. He and I are good "online" friends.
