A case to make for my new PC

Hello,

I'm really turned on with the intentions to get a Abit IP35 motherboard and drive it with the Q6600 cpu.

Problem is, that cpu is a couple pennies above my budget, so I need to look were to trim some pennies.

I already have a flat screen lcd, and a good pci express 512mg vid card. So I still need memory, harddrive, and optical.

I think the Corsair memory deal will be good. I can look around for harddrive and optical deals.

I'm concerned about the case. I want to have plenty of power and good space inside the case. Will the Antec Sonata III with 500-Watt power supply, case that is listed on the main mysuperpc.com be enough to house this board?

you will also probably want to go with a different psu like the corsair 520hx.

that new e8400 cpu is awesome. it is very fast. i have that exact same mobo and cpu and psu i recommended u. if ur a gamer i would definatly get the e8400 over the q6600 anyways.:D

I have the Sonata (and love it), but I ended up using a different PSU. Here are a couple of threads where we discuss the PSU that comes in the Sonata. As I've said before, I can't speak from experience because I never actually used it.

Go with the E8400 if your building a gaming rig, and that should save you enough to get a decent case & solid cpu. Might have to look around a little, because the demand on the E8400 has been HUGE.

I'm not savvy on cryptic workings of a CPU, but from the bold type I would assume the Q6600 Quad core would be chosen over a E8400 Duo???

Your right, the E8400 does seem to be not readily available. There is one from fellow on Amazon, though, at $249. The Q6600 can be had for $259.

Given both in hand at roughly the same price, would you all still pick the E8400 over the Q6600 for a gaming PC? Why?

Becuase the Q6600's cores run at 2.4Ghz, no games use all four cores apart from CoD4, that means two of those cores are being wasted or even worse all three.

The E8400's two cores run at 3.0Ghz, it also runs a lot cooler than the Q6600 and it also has a 1333Mhz FSB as appose to the 1066Mhz FSB of the Q6600.

I know which one i would rather have and seeing as how i have both...........:D

Plz advise on monitor..theres none in 19" which hav HDCP...infact none in Viewsonic & Samsung...i could only find acer at a good price but its not in stock here in mumbai city.
So the only option left is CRT..?
