it says my cpu temp right now is 254 degrees C. the fan is spinning 2518 rpm. what do i do??

What is giving you that reading? What software?

Yeah, mine too. I'm told it's totally inaccurate and not to trust it. Most people trust this...

Just extract the files to your desktop. It doesn't actually install anything on your machine, so you have to run the exe file every time you open it.

i can't use that program because it requires in a digital signature of the drive and i have windows vista 64, so it won't work

Your definately not even close to 254C. The CPU would shut itself down long before that.

that's what i was thinking. plus it would smell like smoke. i don't know what program to use now. core temp won't work with vista 64 and it seems like other programs will have higher readings.

okay, downloaded everest ultimate and it says Core #1 39C and Core #2 31C. guess i'm good to go.
