All kidding aside, you can probably google "overclock e8400 guide" and find someone that's posted an exact map of every BIOS setting they used. Like this one:

I wouldn't recommend it though. Every article I've read says the same thing: it's more of an art than a science. One persons settings might not work for everyone. Between WM's sticky and the two below, it had most of what I needed to get my Q6600 up to 3.1Ghz, and that's just the beginning!

Good links lads.
Right, i have overclocked mine, got it to 3.5Ghz, but the thing is, i only really overclock when something needs to be overclocked, the E8400 already has an amazingly high FSB for a core 2 duo so its already one of the fastest around, it really would not be worth your while to risk damage to get maybe 1 extra FPS in games, also these things are fragile, even though they run really cool, i have been hearing a few horror strories that they can still crash even if the temps are low after overclocking, i didn't experience this with mine however, its just a warning, mine is clocked back to stock now, no difference.

well i guess there is no need really.... thanks for the info though. i did overclock mine to 3.6 and it passed 3dmark and ran prime95 torture/stress blend test for about 6 hours before it found an error so i put it back to stock. it did pass the regular prime95 test that starts automatically when i open up prime95. what are some reasonable cpu temps? also sometimes when cpu temp is open my clock speed varies from 2000mhz (333x6) and 3000mhz (333x9) could this be due toto the cpu enhance intel speedstep technology??? i left in enabled in the bios. it usually only reads 2000mhz if i dont really have anything open but if playing a game it reads the full 3000. is everything good????
