I came to the site looking for help upgrading memory so I could fly FSX and got the confidence to put a new rig together. Thanks, especially to Jamie for the hardware recommendations.

Here is what I put together:

Bill
Florida
January 15
Vista Home Premium 32 bit ( I plan to install 64 bit later)
FSX Deluxe & Acceleration
Asus P5K-C mobo
Intel Q6600 Core2 Quad @2.40ghz
Nvidia GeForce EVGA 8800GT superclocked
Corsair XMS2 DDR2 4 gig kit
2- WD250AAKS hard drives - 500 gig total
Antec 900 case
Corsair HX 520W power supply
Artic Freezer 7 Pro cooler
Altec Lancing multimedia speakers

Everything went together fine but when I called my wife in to watch 1st. boot NOTHING happened.

I called her back in later after I remembered to throw the power switch on the back of the case.

I get a Vista performace rating of 5.9 and can run FSX very close to full settings. I have 50fps as a target and never go below 20 in dense situations.

Thanks again for your site and help.
