I could not tell you they both appear to be the same link, try correcting one of the links and maybe someone could help you.

That being said if it is a question about the two processors seeming the same, but having different boxes and different prices, I have also wondered about that and would like an answer if someone has one.

which I presume was one of the two you were asking about, although that wasn't clear on Amazon. I posted a similar question in my thread http://forums.mysuperpc.com/showthread.php?t=1172 and got the following response from shyster:


Just to get one thing clear, there is no reason to go with anything other than the wolfdale e8400 if you are going with an intel setup. At least of the options you listed. They are the newest CPU's out there and run cooler and more efficiently than the others you listed. Plus I heard they can be overclocked to 4gb without any trouble at all.

Just to make it clear though, I am not an expert so do not take my words as so, but from all I have read from the experts here, and other places this would be the way to go. As for your other inquiries, I am cannot answer those in the least.

It had been suggested to me in another Forum that I go with an Intel setup instead of AMD because of quality issues with currently available product.

Sounded good to me, so I got it, I don't like paying extra if I am not sure I am getting something for it. This is certainly not the current state of the art processor, but it appeared to be the best in my price range. I actually thought it was pretty amazing what I was able to put together for $600.
