I am about to start ordering parts and Jamie suggested that I buy an 8800GT instead of a GTS. My question is of the three I am about to post which is the best.

I was reading the articles about the new GT's and how they are better than the GTS, but I still do not know which of the one I am looking at is best, just in general, but also most cost efficient. These are the two choices the only difference is one seems to be factory overclocked and the other not.

If the only difference is the overclocking, is that something that could be done by someone who has never done it before safely, or should I just spend the extra $20 on the factory version?

OR

what about this GTS which seems to have the same specs but somewhat better and considerably more expensive.

Thanks for your time guys.

The difference between the two 8800GT's is that one is superclocked and one isn't, basically this means one has slightly increased clock speeds to generate slightly more performance, this has been done professionally by EVGA hence slightly more expensive.

For that price the 8800GTS is not worth it, it is only slughtly more powerful than a GT.

Superclocked it is then.

Just as a general question the difference between super- and overclocking, is the increase amount? Or does superclocking always mean it was done at the factory?

Thanks Jamie you have been very helpful to me so far, and this is probably not the last question I will be asking.

I look forward to working with you.

Its about a 50 Mhz increase on both clocks, this may not seem like much but considering it is very hard to overclock Graphics cards and have stability as well it does make a worthwhile boost.

Superclocked is just the name GPU companies give, The word Overclocking is a black area which companies do not use to promote products, there is no difference between the two.
