I use the text editing shortcut keys a lot:
Shift-Arrows - to select text
Ctrl-C - copy selection
Ctrl-X - cut selection
Ctrl-V - paste selection

But what's great is:
Ctrl-Z - to undo
Ctrl-Y - to redo

which also come in handy in succession for positioning me back to where I was editing in a large document after I've scroll-bar'ed to somewhere else.

Although these shortcuts are nothing fancy, they are nearly universal.

Yeah, I use the shutdown command if I am watching a move in bed in case I fall asleep. Windows->Run-> shutdown -s -t 3600 shuts the PC down after an hour. :)

Ctrl-Z and Ctrl-Y are by far the best. Think about it: If you could do anything a computer can but in real life, wouldn't it be the ability to undo a mistake? Or repeat the best moments of life a million times over and over again? Just be careful not to undo your existence by rewinding your birth. XD
