Jamie and Wise, using spec's and recomendations by you folks and one of my friends, I went ahead and built two computers. That makes my total builds of three.
Both are running pretty dang smooth. I never thought fans would be this silent since the last system I built was water cooled. The Antec case was the key for me. Bigger fans for lower RPM's. (Plus being able to chose tween low, med, or high)
CASE: Antec 900
Mobo: Gigabyte P35
CPU: E6750 Duo
PSU: ABS Tagen BZ series (700) comp one and an Xion 600 on another, both modulars
Video: EVGA 8800GT superclocked
Round-a-bout price was roughly 700$US.
I bought an Asus silent square for my CPU cooler. Sucker purrrs. Went well with the new computer desk I built for my home network.
