I'm strongly considering the ASUS p5kc despite all its negative reviews because of all the recommendations the board receives here. I have a SATA question. In the board comparison at the link below, the mobo is listed as having "Southbridge 4 x SATA 3.0 Gb/s ports JMicron JMB363 controller 1 x SATA 3.0 Gb/s ports ". Later in the specs, it says the board has "1 x eSATA 3Gb/s". I am planning to use a SATA hard drive (possibly 2 some day), and at least one SATA optical drive (again, possibly upgrading to two). WIll this work on the p5kc?

Is eSATA "External", leaving me 4 internal? Hmm, I may have just answered my own question...

Yep you just answered your own question.

The P5K-C has four SATA ports for the HDD and optical drives and one eSATA port on the back for something like an external HDD.
