Checking the Power Supply on a new case.

I just bought the Antec Sonata III. I was wondering if I should be able to confirm that it turns on by simply plugging the fan in (it doesn't). I want to make sure it works before I mail in the UPC for the rebate.

Should the fan run without anything else attached? I haven't bought the motherboard yet (I'm hoping the motherboard goes on sale soon).

I would go on and get everything working before cutting out anything for rebates. Some vendors wont allow returns if the upc is cut out/missing
