I'm attemping to build a RAID 0 config with 2- WD AAKS 250GB HDs and have had no success. I finally installed the OS on one drive and my new build is running fine.

I could just give up but then I would have an extra drive on my hands.

Here is the problem. According to the book and ASUS tech support, one internal drive connects to the SATA_E2 pins near the back of the board. The second, now called external drive, connects to the SATA port on the rear panel connector. The system doesn't see the external drive.

I pinned my DVD to be a slave and master/slave isn't an issue with SATA drives. I went through my BIOS settings with tech support and they were correct.

The connector on the back of the computer is so tight I had to trim the SATA cable connector to get it in. Could that be the problem?

I don't know what they are talking about - you should be able to set up the RAID array with both drives connected internally. It sounds like they think you are using two external drives, perhaps.

I don't know the ASUS board, so I don't really know what to suggest.
