There are too many brands and models to pick a motherboard out. I have always had bad luck picking motherboards out. Usually a defect because I bought on price.

I want the best motherboard for video editing!!!!!!
and Microsoft flight sim!!

Is there a list of the best motherboards for quality and speed.
I would love to get the qx9650 or qx6800 or any other CPUs in that range but only if the motherboard wasn't too expensive. I would settle for getting the best motherboard and a mid cpu and upgrading the cpu at a later date.
What is your thoughts everyone?

The best chipset at the moment is probably Intel's P35 chipset. I'd recommend going for the Asus P5K-C, or the Gigabyte G-P35C-DS3R.

For the P5K should I stay away from the Deluxe and Premium models?

I couldn't find the exact model for the Gigibite, this is what i found:

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R
GIGABYTE GA-EP35C-DS3R
GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R

I meant the GA-P35C-DS3R model - forgot that A. :)

Afaik there is nothing wrong with the deluxe/premium models, but Jamie knows more about them.

I think I will go with the Gigibite un-less someone else wants to say that Asus is better.

Thanks

The Gigabyte is good but the Asus has more features and more ports.

Plus the Asus is cheaper than the Gigabyte.

I am not too worried about price, I just want good quailty.

They are both quality boards you only have to look at the manufacturers.

The Asus is more an enthusiast board whereas the Gigabyte is more of your casual average joe type board lol.

I have both so can vouch for both when i say they are quality.

But personally i always recommend the Asus, it is a better board.

Do they both do a good job overclocking?

Thats why the Asus is more of an enthusiast board, its a demon overclocker.

I saw the reviews on newegg and didn't like that. I think it will still get it.
Now I need to find a CPU that I will be happy with. What are your thoughts?

I am thinking the e6750.

The E6750 is probably the best "bang-for-buck" CPU available at the moment. Plus, it overclocks like a champ - I have mine running at 3.2 under air cooling. :)
