If this has already been addressed in this forum, then please disregard.
So here's the deal, I have this HP that I bought around 2001-2002 ish. I've been trying to keep it viable for as long as possible, newest vid. cca the mobo will support, brand spankin new SoundBlaster X-Fi setup, expanded ram to about 1.25 GB. But the day is drawing near that the mobo and proccesor just won't make the cut anymore.
I've been wanting to port the whole mess over to a new case for a while, and I was thinking about trying to get a new mobo+proccesor.
Now I'm not so much of a FNG to this stuff that I dont' already know that I need to make sure the new mobo supports the correct connection ports for the hardware I already have, and I know that the OS is on the hard drive, but I also know that it can't be as easy popping it into the case and plugging everything in.
So, can anyone in general tell me what I'm missing?
