Hey guys, this is my first build and I'd like any comments you have on the stuff I've picked - are there better options, did I choose something stupid/incompatible, etc.
Processor:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard:
GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX
Video Card:
EVGA 512-P3-N841-A3 GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB
RAM:
3 sticks of CORSAIR XMS2 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
HD:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
DVD-R:
LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model LH-20A1L-06
Case:
Antec Sonata III Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply
Some questions:
1. Is it a good idea to go for the quad core or should I stick with a C2D?
2. Should I get another power supply and throw out the one that comes with the case?
3. Is the GTS a lot better than the GT? I think it comes with Crysis...
Thanks!
