$1300 gaming computer

As you know, I've got $1300-$1500 to spend and an old dell monitor. I don't know if the monitor will even show the graphics a good card will put out. Thanks for all the help.

All of this comes to $1010,93.

That leaves you almost $500 for an Operating System and a new monitor.

Jaime ,will this build you proposed above be able to handle some games...i want to put a system together for internet browsing but be able to throw a game at it if i want to....

Not some games, all games will run on this computer, every game around should run at max settings and Crysis should run nice on high.

I'm about to but the parts, but I couldn't find a 320 GB HD, so I went with the Western Digital Caviar SE16 500 GB HD instead. Will that cause any problems? Otherwise I found all the parts on Newegg like you said. The case rebate runs out in 2 days, so I might miss that, but I'll live. Will that case do all the cooling that I'll need for the computer? And will building it be pretty similar to the guide? I've never built a computer before, but I've got a friend who has, and he said he'll help me build it. Thanks for all your help so far.

Well I just bought the parts. I ended up getting the 500 GB HD, since it was only about $5 more than the 320 was on other sites. Also I got Xp home edition for my os for like $190. Total price was just over $1300, with no new monitor yet. Still might buy one if I feel like my old one isn't cutting it.
