Well, built a rig a couple months back with great success. However, I have had this issue since day one. I have two external hard drives plugged into the USB ports on the back of the tower. Anytime I reboot the machine, the system will freeze at the bios screen unless I disconnect both drives. I have tried keeping only one drive connected, and tried each drive solo in each USB port and tried the front ports as well. Same thing every time. I don't get it. I've tried everything I can think of. It's just a real big hassle more than anything.

What is the boot order in the BIOS? Do you have USB support enabled? These things could be an issue - it might be trying to boot from one of them.

Nope, I have the internal HDD as the first boot option.

Hmm, it could be a power issue - what PSU do you have? External HDs take a lot of power.
