4 Monitor system-where do I start?

I want to build a 4 monitor system for stock trading. The screens will display charts in real time.
Do I start with the motherboard, cpu, video cards? Any suggestions would be great. I put one computer together from scratch 5 years ago so I am not experienced.
Brand suggestions would be great also. Thanks

If not maybe my questions weren,t clear.

Should I choose a cpu then try to find a mother board that will be compatable but also capable of handling 2 graphics cards.

Or should I choose the graphics cards first then a motherboard that can handle them and lastly a cpu that will fit this motherboard?

If this seems rediculously simple, sorry. I don't want to make an expensive mistake.

Are you planning to use one PCI-E graphics card and one PCI? Or two PCI-E graphics cards?

This is interesting.
In filmschool we edited on macs with 2 monitors and 1 television connected

if you already had the monitors and os etc

could you build a good 4 monitor system for $2000,$1500 would be even better=)

3 monitors and a tv would be really fun to edit on =)

Well, you will need two graphics cards to run four monitors, but they can be PCI or PCI-E. You should probably look at SLI motherboards i.e. those with two PCI-E slots, or just use one good GFX card and one rubbish one. :)

check out the new e8400 wolfdale by intel. only 219 on newegg. and way better than the phenom. or e6750 by intel that one is only 189. just a thought though. im pretty sure he will tell u to change the psu to the corsair 520hx i believe.

Motherboard does not support Crossfire.

Also, why are you building an AMD based computer? they are going knowhere, build an Intel based computer.

Thanks I switched the mb to MSI k9a2cf-f 790x am2+ atx.

Stuck in a rut I guess. My athlon 2600 and 4000 were great (the 4000 laptop still is). This computer will be used only for trading and I wanted just wanted a strong dependable machine. I have confidence in AMD (until they give me a reason not to)
