Please give feedback on my plnned SuperPC

This is my first ever self-made PC. Here's a link to my NewEgg list. I haven't ordered yet, but plan to on either Saturday or Sunday. Am I forgetting anything? Keep in mind that I am planning to use my old crappy crt monitor for now, along with my ps2 mouse, usb Compaq keyboard and crummy stereo spekers. I'll upgrade all that some day, but first I want to make sure I can build the darn thing correctly! I also already own WinXP Home Edition. The price is before $95.00 worth of rebates. Are there any components that are incompatible, or any glaring mistakes/omissions? Any/all feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Change the PSU to a Corsair HX520w, its a lot better than the real power and its cheaper.

Everything else is spot on, on thing though, you don't need the AS5, the stock Intel cooler has pre-applied paste and its good, using AS5 voids your warranty.

Thanks! I was going to buy a seperate cooler for the cpu, hence the paste. But if you think the Intel chip will be cool enough on its own, I won't worry about it. Should I buy any additional case fans? That case only comes with 2, but I don't think I can bring myself to pay $100-120 for the Antec 900.

EDIT: Actually, the CoolerMaster is $100 right now with a rebate, which is why I chose it. Also, it's 650W, which I figured would be more future-proof than the 500-550W PSUs. I wanted to go with Antec, but again, $150-165 just for a PSU seems like a ripoff. My motherboard won't even cost that much. Are Corsairs/Antecs really that much better to make them worth paying more (or getting a lower wattage)?

You can find the 900 on sale from time to time. Newegg had a couple of weeks ago for like $55.

Trust me mate, don't EVER listen to how much wattage a PSU has, the Corsair will run any setup around, its also one of the best.

Theres no need to future proof with PSU's because PC components are forever being made more energy efficient, thus they don't need as much power.

Are there any reliable PSUs that are above 500W and cost under $100. I'm not trying to be painful, I just want to try to keep the budget as reasonable as possible. Thanks again.

Jamie, quick question. is this Corsair PSU a suitable alternative to the 520 HX?

The VX is very good, but not as good as the HX.
